Get a grant for the renovation of a house, cottage or apartment building

Property owners can reduce the cost of running their buildings by investing in solutions leading to energy savings and higher energy efficiency. You can apply for a subsidy for the renovation or construction of a family house, apartment building or cottage used for permanent housing.

New green savings

The New green savings program (NZÚ) is available for family and apartment buildings and its goal is to improve the energy efficiency of these buildings and increase the comfort of living. Support is provided in the form of subsidies for ecological and energy-saving measures. Below are the main conditions and benefits of the NZÚ program.

Who can apply

Apartment buildings: Owners of apartment buildings can apply, both natural persons and legal entities (e.g. housing cooperatives, associations of unit owners – SVJ, municipalities and cities).

Family houses: Natural persons (owners of family houses), but also legal entities (for example, municipalities or organizations if they own family houses)

Areas of support

Insulation of perimeter structures (e.g. insulation of facades, roofs, ceilings and floors).

Replacement of windows and doors with energy-saving variants.

Installation of renewable energy sources such as solar panels for electricity generation or water heating.

Modernization of the heating system, for example installation of heat pumps or biomass boilers.

Heat recovery and ventilation systems that reduce the energy consumption of building ventilation.

Use of rain and gray water to save drinking water (e.g. for flushing or irrigation).

Subsidy amount

The amount of the subsidy varies according to the type of measure, the amount of savings achieved and the total costs. It is usually possible to get more support for complex renovations than for smaller projects. The subsidy can cover up to 50% of eligible expenses.

Subprograms

Repair grandma’s house: support for the renovation and modernization of older family houses or cottages. Applicants must plan to use the house for permanent residence, not, for example, for recreational purposes.

New green savings light: a program designed for seniors (persons over 60 years old) who own or co-own a family home and have permanent residence there; households with lower incomes – families that receive housing allowance or other social benefits
