Get grant financing for the construction and modernization of small hydropower plants

The goal of the program is to support investments in renewable energy sources through the construction and modernization of small hydropower plants. Hydroelectric plants can receive subsidies for new installations and modernization of existing infrastructure. The subsidy will help offset the high initial costs of hydropower plants, making investment projects more feasible and attractive.

The project must be implemented on the territory of the Czech Republic outside of Prague. The latest date for the completion of the physical implementation of the project is June 30 2027.

Basic conditions

Subsidy amount: min. CZK 1 million – max. CZK 100 million

Application deadline: 6/9/2023 – 31/12/2024

Applicants: small and large businesses

Indicator required to be fulfilled: Increase in installed electric power at supported entities – such an increase is considered if, within the framework of the technological or structural equipment of the electricity production plant and the implementation of other modifications, at least the replacement or overhaul of the turbine, generator, control devices and replacement or installation is carried out new automated control system

Level of support

45-65% of total eligible expenditure

Eligible expenses

Technological part of the construction – turbine incl. regulation (CAR, accumulator and regulator), quick shutters, combs, hydraulic aggregate including accumulator, hydraulic circuit pumping, gearboxes, generator incl. excitation sets, transformers, substations, power output (connection), LV cabling, HV cabling, low-current distributions, protections, control system, cranes, cleaning machine, backup power source (incl. battery), air conditioning and cooling systems, security systems, gates

Construction part of the construction – inlet facility, substructure of MVE, engine room, outlet facility, dead culvert, wastewater treatment plant, modification of the weir and related facilities, construction or modification of the inlet and outlet channel

Engineering activity – Externally purchased services of authorized natural and legal persons according to the law

Project documentation – Externally purchased services of designers in the creation of documentation (DUR/DSP, DPS, DSPS)
